How to Collect Your Sample
Now that you’ve officially joined the Mitome community, there are two immediate things to watch for:
1) Shipping Notification
Your kit will ship within 3–5 business days. When it does, you’ll receive an email titled "Tracking Your Mitome Order" with your FedEx tracking number.
→ Note: The sender may appear as our lab partner, Religen, so keep an eye out for that name.
2. Download your Sample Collection Form
Before Your Kit Arrives
To stay ahead, make sure you’re ready with the following:
1) 1 fine-tip permanent marker (for labeling tubes)
2) Scissors
3) Freezer space for the enclosed ice packs
→ Freeze the ice packs for at least 24 hours before shipping.
Sample Collection Instructions
- Plan your collection for Monday–Thursday only.
- Don’t drop off at Walgreens, Office Depot, or Staples. Use a FedEx Hub or a FedEx Authorized ShipCenter to avoid delays or spoilage.
- Label your tubes clearly and let the ink fully dry before collecting.
- Drop off your sample as close to the final FedEx pickup of the day as possible to minimize ambient exposure.
- Make sure to save the requisition form and send it back with your kit.
- 💡 Important: If a replacement kit is needed due to sample spoilage from not following instructions, a $50 fee will apply to cover the cost of re-shipping.
Common Questions:
Here are some common questions we get about the testing:
Do I need to fast before the test?
No fasting is required, but you need to wait thirty minutes after eating or brushing your teeth before collecting your sample.
Do I need to stop my medications or supplements?
No. The test reflects your current mitochondrial function, including the effects of anything you currently take.
→ If you wish to test without the influence of any particular supplement or medication, stop it for 3 months, but only under medical/healthcare practitioner guidance.
What info do I fill out on the lab form?
Just your name and address. Leave the physician fields and payment information blank.
When will I get my results?
Reports are delivered within 4–6 weeks of when the lab receives your kit. You’ll get an email titled "Your Mitome Results Are Ready" when they’re available.
🔬 What’s Next?
Over the next few weeks, you’ll receive emails introducing you to the foundations of mitochondrial science and how to start optimizing based on your biology. You can also check them out here in the dashboard modules.
Upcoming Emails to Look For:
“The Science of Mitochondrial Health” (Week 1)
“Why Glucose, Ketones, and Lactate Matter” (Week 2)
“Your Mitome Results Are Ready” (Week 4–6)
In the meantime, keep checking your dashboard. It’s where your educational modules live, and your report updates will be delivered.
You’ve just declared war on fatigue, decline, and decay. This is what it looks like to fight back with science.
